ARMCHAIR SHOPPING - is a UK based Online Shopping Directory.

Armchair Shopping gives unbiased information to UK online shoppers about products and services available to buy online. In order to do this we publish features or links to advertise "merchants" offerings.

USE OF THIS WEBSITE
Armchair Shopping is FREE to use. Access to all parts of the site are unrestricted.
There is no "subscription" service - users do not have to pay for any services in order to browse the site.
We have a registration option. This enables user to register by submitting their email address. Registration is managed by a 3rd party www.ylmp.com. Subscribers will receive periodic information from Armchair Shopping. Personal details (name and email address only) are retained by the 3rd party. Personal details are held securely, and not divulged, distributed, sold or resold or used for any other purpose than occasional newsletters sent only from Armchair Shopping. You can Register here.

Armchair Shopping does not sell anything directly (other than advertising space). All products found "for sale" on Armchair Shopping are being "sold" by the advertiser and NOT Armchair Shopping. All enquiries, disputes, comments, communications and feedback about items or services available or for sale on Armchair Shopping should be directed to the "merchant". Armchair Shopping has no obligation or responsibility whatsoever regarding consumer rights for purchases made through any advertiser appearing on Armchair Shopping. However, we are happy to receive feedback about any shopping experience - good or bad - regarding any of our advertisers to enable us to pass this information to consumers via Armchair Shopping. This does not in any way imply that we take responsibility or are accountable for any losses you may have suffered, and neither does it imply that we will take action or assist in action to rectify a complaint with any of our advertisers.

A proportion of merchants we advertise are selected for their "consumer value" - i.e they do not pay Armchair Shopping for inclusion and no contractual agreement exists. This means that we can offer our visitors unbiased and honest information, to genuinely help with their shopping experience. Merchants who pay for advertising (either commission based or paid links) have certain rights about what Armchair Shopping can say about them. In these cases we strive to be as honest as we can and will never publish any wording that we do not agree with or consider is misleading or not accurate. i.e If an advertiser asks us to say "We are the top UK shop for blah, blah, blah...." we will not replicate this claim, but we may say "We are a top UK shop for blah, blah, blah....". In all cases, Armchair Shopping reserves the right to describe and publish information about merchants in a form that is helpful for consumers and will amend copy (with advertisers agreement) to comply.

Advertising on Armchair Shopping
We accept "paid" advertising, commission based advertising and reciprocal links. Whichever advertising option is selected, we reserve the right to place "entries" where we decide. This is to maintain our principle of usefulness and good consumer experience, and to keep Armchair Shopping refreshed and varied. This means that we will not grade our advertisers in relation to the amount they will pay for a top listing. Therefore an advertisers listing may be top, middle or bottom of a page, and we reserve the right to decide on positioning.

Premier Listings
We charge a one-off fee of £75 for a Premier Listing on Armchair Shopping. A Premier Listing is an entry in one, two or three sections of the directory, and include an image 120x60 max and 4 lines of descriptive text, plus at least 2 clickable links on each entry to allow visitors to go to that site. Commission Based
We feature merchants who pay Armchair Shopping by commission. This is a fair way of promotion for both parties - the more trade we generate for an advertiser, the more we earn too. All commission based advertising is managed through "affiliate schemes". This is a scheme managed by an Affiliate Network or by the merchant themselves. All "clicks" from Armchair Shopping are recorded when a customer clicks on a link to the merchant. Software attached to the merchants online processing system tracks clicks and assigns a small percentage of the sale to us. Apply Here

Reciprocal Links
We like to build up a good network of partners through careful linking between appropriate websites. This improves the content we can offer visitors and assists with Search Engine Optimisation. We position our links to Reciprocal Partners in an appropriate section of the directory, and include an image 120x60 max and 4 lines of descriptive text, plus at least 2 clickable links to allow visitors to go to that site. Every site we accept gets listed free provided a reciprocal link is set up and maintained on your site as per the criteria below. If your link to Armchair Shopping is removed at any time in the future (we check frequently) then we will transfer your link to a Premier Listing and you will be invoiced a one-off fee of £75. Reciprocal Link Criteria
We welcome Reciprocal Link submissions from any UK based organisation that meets our criteria. Your site must sell products or services in the UK, in GB pounds and have a customer service contact, plus clear details including your business address, valid contact details and the site must allow "secure" online ordering in order to protect customers. You must place a link on your site to http://www.armchair-shopping.co.uk. This link must be on a "prominent" page which is reached by no more than 2 clicks from the index page. This link must not be on a "link farm" nor on a page with more than 100 other links. It must be on a page with the same domain as the main site. Your site and the link page must appear in organic searches on Google (Page Rank 4 or above*), MSN and Yahoo!. If you meet this criteria you can Apply Here - Please note - we get hundreds of submissions that do not meet the above criteria. This takes up a lot of our time, and many are rejected simply because the conditions are not met. So please ensure all conditions are met before you submit your site.

* Google Page Rank 4 = If your site is un-ranked in Google we will still consider your site for inclusion if we feel it has the potential to reach a higher Page Rank.
